Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed disapproval of Arvind Kejriwal’s questioning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity. Rijiju criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader for not acknowledging the BJP’s role in the West Bengal Assembly elections victory. He highlighted the opposition’s denial of PM Modi’s popularity and urged them to stop feigning unity.
In a social media post, Rijiju emphasized that even those feigning ignorance could see PM Modi’s popularity. He pointed out the irony of parties that previously clashed now uniting against PM Modi while claiming he lacks popularity. Kejriwal had earlier raised doubts about the BJP’s success in West Bengal, questioning how they won when PM Modi’s popularity seemed to be declining.
Kejriwal’s comments coincided with PM Modi surpassing 100 million Instagram followers, making him the first active world leader to achieve this milestone on the platform. PM Modi, who joined Instagram in 2014, has built a strong digital presence over the years, engaging with audiences globally. His recent “jhalmuri” snack break during West Bengal campaigning went viral on social media, garnering millions of views and sparking public interest in the street snack.
