Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the impact of initiatives like CPGRAMS and Digital Life Certificates on transforming governance in India. During discussions with Republic of Korea Interior and Safety Minister Yun Hojung, he emphasized India’s digital governance progress and the need for deeper collaboration in e-governance and artificial intelligence. The meeting between the two leaders focused on enhancing cooperation in digital governance, public administration, capacity building, and citizen services.
Dr. Singh welcomed the Korean delegation, emphasizing the Special Strategic Partnership shared between India and the Republic of Korea based on democratic values and good governance principles. He mentioned the Joint Strategic Vision Statement established during Republic of Korea President Lee Jae Myung’s recent visit to India as a roadmap for expanding bilateral ties. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has made significant strides in digital governance, improving service delivery and grievance redressal through technology-enabled platforms.
India and the Republic of Korea, as vibrant democracies with shared values and cultural ties, have a historic and forward-looking partnership as major Asian economies. Dr. Singh also highlighted the historical connections between the two nations, including the cultural significance of the marital link between Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya and King Suro of the ancient Gaya confederacy. He commended Yun Hojung’s efforts in strengthening India-Korea relations and expressed optimism that the visit would further enhance bilateral cooperation.
