Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has opened an Adani Vikas Kendra in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, focusing on enhancing livelihood opportunities for women through skill development and garment manufacturing. The center, situated in Badarwas, covers 48,000 square feet and houses 600 modern sewing machines. It serves as a training hub and production facility, allowing women to acquire employable skills and engage in organized manufacturing.
Addressing the audience, Scindia emphasized the significant impact of such endeavors, stating that the initiative mirrors the emergence of aspirations at the grassroots level. He commended Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and the Adani Foundation for their efforts in establishing avenues that bridge local skills with broader markets. Scindia praised the initiative’s role in empowering women and expressed confidence that products from Badarwas would gain recognition nationally and internationally in the coming years.
The Adani Vikas Kendra is part of the Adani Foundation’s Swabhimaan program, which aims to connect one million women in India to sustainable livelihood opportunities. Upon reaching full capacity, the Badarwas facility is projected to support approximately 1,500 women, providing them with stable income sources. The initiative seeks to enhance household incomes, reduce dependence on informal jobs, and prevent migration by creating local employment prospects.
By encouraging women’s involvement in economic endeavors within their communities, the program strives to promote lasting financial autonomy and social empowerment among participants.
