Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated two 33/11 kV electricity substations in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar district. These substations at Pathkheda and Madi‑Mahidpur, costing about Rs 4.40 crore, aim to enhance power supply in 12 villages of the Chanderi Assembly constituency.
Addressing public meetings post-inauguration, Scindia emphasized the government’s focus on bolstering rural infrastructure to support agriculture and public services. He stressed the significance of improving the living standards of farmers, stating his commitment to Ashoknagar’s development.
Scindia highlighted the swift completion of the Pathkheda substation within four months of its foundation stone laying. He emphasized the need for expedited infrastructure projects to meet the rising electricity demands in rural areas. The newly operational substations are set to enhance electricity supply for irrigation and domestic use, promoting the adoption of natural farming practices.
The Union Minister underscored the importance of the ongoing Chanderi Micro Irrigation Project, a Rs 550‑crore initiative expected to benefit agricultural land in 121 villages. These new substations form part of the strategy to fortify the electricity distribution network in rural regions, catering to the escalating power needs driven by agricultural and household consumption. Public representatives and state power distribution officials graced the inauguration.
