Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia emphasized the Northeast’s rapid development under PM Modi’s leadership. Speaking at the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, he praised the region’s progress driven by enhanced connectivity, infrastructure growth, and supportive policies. Scindia urged industry leaders to invest in Tripura, positioning it as a key investment hub in the Northeast.
PM Modi’s Act East Policy has transformed the region into a gateway to Southeast Asia, creating new trade and investment prospects. Tripura, with its abundant natural resources and skilled workforce, is emerging as a strategic link to the ASEAN region. The Minister highlighted Tripura’s strengths, including its role as a major bamboo and rubber producer, offering significant opportunities for various industries.
Scindia underscored the importance of infrastructure in boosting confidence and attracting investments. He outlined key projects like the India–Myanmar–Thailand Trilateral Highway and the ‘Maitri Setu’ bridge, positioning Tripura for increased exports. The Minister called on investors to capitalize on Tripura’s transformation into a vital trade hub, reflecting the broader economic growth in the Northeast led by PM Modi.
