He paid respects to Lord Buddha’s sacred relics during his visit. The arrival of Piprahwa relics in Ladakh is seen as a significant event promoting compassion, wisdom, and peace.
The sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha were brought to Leh on April 29 for a public exhibition until May 14. These relics, symbolizing peace and cultural heritage, were warmly welcomed at Kushok Bakula Rimpoche Airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the spiritual and cultural importance of these relics, emphasizing their return to India after a prolonged period.
During the celebrations coinciding with Buddha Purnima, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a large gathering in Ladakh. He noted the historical significance of the relics’ arrival after seven decades and praised the diverse crowd paying homage to Lord Buddha. Shah underscored the timeless relevance of Buddha’s teachings in today’s world, emphasizing the region’s historical role as a cultural and religious crossroads.
