Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy expressed criticism towards the Congress, stating that while the nation understood Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s economic concerns, the Opposition failed to do so. Kumaraswamy emphasized the importance of responsibly addressing the Prime Minister’s worries and educating the public rather than engaging in what he termed as “petty propaganda.”
Kumaraswamy highlighted the global impact of the Middle East crisis, affecting countries worldwide, including India due to its heavy reliance on imported oil. Despite economic challenges, he commended India for enduring such pressures well, attributing it to the country’s economic strength. The Minister noted the Prime Minister’s call for citizens to refrain from buying gold for a year, emphasizing its national interest and criticizing the Congress for opposing this suggestion.
The Minister pointed out the irony of ordinary citizens accepting the Prime Minister’s advice while the Opposition parties opposed it. He urged the Congress to introspect and clarify how they planned to fund their five guarantee schemes before criticizing the government. Kumaraswamy advised the Congress to exhibit political maturity and collaborate responsibly instead of questioning the Prime Minister’s dedication to the nation.
