Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, currently in Nagaland, reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and equitable development nationwide. Rai, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stressed the importance of effectively implementing centrally sponsored schemes to achieve these objectives. He highlighted the need for transparent, accountable, and timely execution to ensure the benefits reach the people, especially in Nagaland, known for its agricultural potential.
During his visit, Rai engaged with officials to discuss the progress and challenges of centrally sponsored schemes in Mokokchung district. He also interacted with the Ungma Village Council, emphasizing India’s diverse cultural heritage and commending efforts to preserve traditional art and culture. Rai further appreciated the initiatives at Ungma village to showcase the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Ao community and Nagaland.
Inspecting the construction of a hospital building at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Rai acknowledged the project under the Ministry of Development of North East Region’s Purvotta Sampark Setu program. He praised Padma Shree Awardee Guru Sangyusang Pongener for his contributions to preserving the community’s cultural heritage, highlighting the importance of such endeavors in maintaining cultural identity for future generations.
