Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita visited Dominica and met with President Sylvanie Burton in Roseau. They discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral partnership between the two countries. Sylvanie Burton, the first woman and indigenous person from the Kalinago community to be Dominica’s President since 2023, welcomed the discussions.
Margherita, after successful visits to Belize and Honduras, arrived in Dominica to enhance partnerships across key sectors. He was warmly received by Dominica’s Foreign Minister Vince Henderson upon his arrival at the airport. Margherita expressed his anticipation for productive discussions with Dominica’s leadership.
During his visit, Margherita is expected to meet other top leaders of Dominica to discuss various aspects of the bilateral relationship. He will also visit project sites supported by grant assistance from India. In Belize, Margherita met with Dame Froyla Tzalam, the Governor-General, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and interacted with the Indian diaspora to acknowledge their role in fostering ties between India and Belize.
