Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, commended Tripura’s Child Care Institutes (CCIs) during her visit, highlighting them as a potential model for other states. She emphasized the effective implementation of Central welfare schemes in Tripura, transforming it into a role model state. Devi noted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on ensuring the benefits of government schemes reach every segment of society.
During her visit, Devi interacted with children at various centers, including a Saksham Anganwadi Centre and a Child Care Institution. She praised Tripura’s efforts in creating a conducive environment for children’s safety, care, education, and overall development. The Union Minister expressed her intention to advocate for wider adoption of Tripura’s child care model at the national level.
Devi also reviewed schemes and projects by Tripura’s Social Welfare and Social Education Department, acknowledging the state’s commitment to the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.” She highlighted the importance of eradicating child marriage and increasing awareness among young girls to report such cases. The Minister emphasized the need for continuous improvement in implementing welfare schemes for women and children.
