Union Minister Pralhad Joshi expressed joy as eight achievers from Karnataka were chosen for the prestigious Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards on Republic Day. He highlighted the pride these awards bring to Karnataka and congratulated the awardees personally. Among the recipients, Shatavadhani R. Ganesh was honored for his Avadhana Bhajana art, while T.T. Jagannathan received a posthumous Padma Shri for his contributions to trade and industry.
Social worker S.G. Sushilamma and Dr. Suresh Hanagavadi were recognized for their significant societal contributions. Aerospace scientist Shubha Venkatesh Iyengar, along with others in literature and education like Ankegowda and Shashi Shekhar Vempati, were also among the awardees. Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai extended his congratulations to the recipients, appreciating their selfless service and dedication.
