Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Sukanta Majumdar led a high-level review meeting in Shillong to evaluate the advancement of projects monitored under the PM-Ref Portal across various schemes of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER). A total of 17 major projects, costing around Rs 3,108 crore, were assessed during the meeting. These projects are currently underway in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Tripura.
Following the meeting, the DoNER Minister expressed satisfaction after visiting the North Eastern Council office in Shillong and engaging with officials. He commended the dedicated efforts aimed at enhancing regional development in the northeastern region and addressing crucial developmental needs. Additionally, the Minister received constructive feedback from officials on vital projects and strategies for expediting project proposals.
Majumdar, who also serves as Union Minister of State for Education, scrutinized the progress of projects monitored through the PM-Ref Portal under various Ministry schemes. Emphasizing the significance of timely project execution, robust monitoring systems, and enhanced inter-departmental coordination, the Minister stressed the need for swift completion of developmental initiatives in the northeastern states. He also held discussions with senior officials to review key initiatives for bolstering institutional coordination and accelerating development efforts in the region.
