Union Minister Kiren Rijiju dismissed AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks after being acquitted in a Delhi court in the liquor policy case. Rijiju stated that Kejriwal’s statements held no significance as he had been making similar claims for years. He mentioned that Kejriwal’s comments lacked credibility and were made casually, with no truth in his claims.
Rijiju’s comments followed a Delhi Court’s decision to discharge Arvind Kejriwal and 22 others, including his close aide Manish Sisodia, in the Excise Policy case. Regarding the court’s verdict, Rijiju described it as a standard process where errors in judgments could be rectified by appealing to a higher court or a larger Bench for corrections. He emphasized the importance of proper examination of facts leading to a fair judgment.
After the court ruling, an emotional Kejriwal referred to himself, Sisodia, and AAP as “Kattar Imaandar (brutally honest).” He accused PM Modi and Amit Shah of orchestrating a political conspiracy against AAP, claiming that five key party leaders were jailed to dismantle the party. Kejriwal challenged Modi to call for fresh elections in Delhi, pledging to quit politics if the BJP secured over 10 seats, highlighting the alleged decline of Delhi under the current leadership.
