Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat criticized the Opposition, alleging that parties against delimitation and the Women’s Reservation Act would be exposed again. Shekhawat highlighted the necessity of delimitation due to the increasing voter population in constituencies.
Shekhawat emphasized that delimitation is a constitutional requirement, with provisions in place since Independence. He mentioned that a fresh delimitation exercise is envisioned after 2025. The Minister stated that PM Modi is dedicated to enhancing women’s participation in governance and stressed the importance of delimitation for women’s representation in legislatures.
Shekhawat accused the Opposition of displaying an “anti-women mindset” during discussions on the Women’s Reservation Act. He indicated that the Business Advisory Committee would set the legislative agenda for the upcoming Monsoon Session. Shekhawat also praised India’s infrastructure progress under the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision.
Highlighting infrastructure developments in Rajasthan, Shekhawat noted significant improvements in roads, railways, and aviation over the past decade. He mentioned rapid railway electrification nationwide, upcoming Hydrogen-powered trains, and the doubling of airports. Shekhawat expressed gratitude to PM Modi for prioritizing Rajasthan’s infrastructure projects.
