Union Minister of State and BJP leader, Sukanta Majumdar, criticized the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, accusing them of corruption, infiltration issues, and deteriorating law and order. He emphasized that any actions, even against top leaders like Mamata Banerjee or Abhishek Banerjee, would strictly adhere to legal procedures. Majumdar stated that the government would act against corruption without bias but within the bounds of the law.
Majumdar clarified that any decisions regarding investigations into the Chief Minister would be made post-government formation and would follow legal protocols. He stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law in all actions taken by the government. Majumdar highlighted the BJP’s commitment to addressing corruption and administrative failures, which he believes has garnered increased support for the party.
The BJP leader reiterated the party’s stance on the issue of infiltration, advocating for a stringent approach of “detect, delete, and deport.” He criticized the state government for its failure to address infiltration effectively, connecting it to the deteriorating law and order situation. Majumdar expressed confidence in a significant victory for the BJP in West Bengal under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Majumdar also criticized the Trinamool’s electoral procedures and alleged lack of confidence, suggesting that their actions indicate a readiness to be in the Opposition. He dismissed the ruling party’s claims of procedural irregularities and insecurity. Addressing concerns over post-poll violence, Majumdar mentioned the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces for nearly 60 days post-election to maintain peace and security.
