Union Ministers from the ruling NDA alliance criticized the Congress and other opposition parties, labeling them as ‘anti-women’ within the Opposition INDIA bloc. This came after the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill did not pass the Lok Sabha. Union Minister Chirag Paswan accused the Opposition of rejecting the Bill under the pretext of delimitation, stating, “The INDI alliance is anti-women alliance. They don’t want women to get their rights.”
Echoing Paswan’s sentiment, Union Minister Giriraj Singh expressed his belief that the Congress and other opposition parties have consistently been anti-women. Singh emphasized that while opposition leaders may celebrate the Bill’s failure, the country will not forgive them. He added, “The women of the country will never forgive them.”
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale remarked that Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is displeased with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Athawale accused the Opposition of hindering the Bill to prevent any benefits to PM Modi and the NDA, asserting that they have betrayed the women of the nation.
