Actress and social media personality Uorfi Javed has strongly refuted rumors circulating online about her religion and identity. This comes after social media influencer Faizan Ansari alleged that Muslims had expelled Javed from Islam and renamed her Geeta Bharadwaj. In response, Uorfi clarified that she does not follow any religion and questioned the authenticity of these claims.
Uorfi expressed her disbelief at the reports, stating that she abandoned religion long ago and identifying herself as an atheist. She dismissed the notion of being removed from a place she does not belong to in the first place. Faizan Ansari had earlier claimed in a video that Muslims had collectively decided to disassociate Javed from the community due to her alleged disrespect towards Islam.
Faizan Ansari publicly declared that Uorfi Javed is no longer considered a Muslim and will be known as Geeta Bhardwaj moving forward. He emphasized that this decision was made by the Muslim community in response to Javed’s perceived actions. The influencer shared a written letter addressed to the Maulana, head of the All India Muslim community, to formalize this change.
