Ahead of Bakrid celebrations, the Uttar Pradesh government has instructed district administrations to enforce strict guidelines on animal sacrifice, public prayers, sanitation, and law and order. The state government has banned animal sacrifice at public places and directed authorities to ensure that roads are not blocked for namaz. District administrations are monitoring social media platforms to maintain communal harmony during the festival.
Only designated locations will be allowed for prayers and sacrifices, with the strict prohibition of sacrificing prohibited animals. In Kanpur Dehat, police and administrative officials have reviewed preparations and inspected Eidgahs ahead of the festival. Authorities have urged people to adhere to rules related to Qurbani and public gatherings for a peaceful celebration.
SP Shraddha Narendra Pandey of Kanpur Dehat mentioned that all major prayer sites in the district have been inspected and reviewed. She stated that arrangements have been made at various sites to accommodate the expected number of attendees, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order during the festival.
In Pilibhit, the district administration has conducted peace committee meetings and reviewed arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, emphasizing restrictions on animal sacrifice and security measures. District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh has advised residents against offering namaz in public spaces and to strictly follow guidelines on prohibited animals and cleanliness.
Superintendent of Police Sukirti Madhav highlighted the organization of meetings with stakeholders to discuss guidelines and security measures for Bakrid, including public grievance redressal and action against illegal activities. In Bhadohi district, peace committee meetings have been held at various administrative levels to ensure smooth celebrations of Ganga Dussehra and Bakrid.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in Basti district for Bakrid celebrations, including drone monitoring and intensified police patrolling. Superintendent of Police Yashveer Singh emphasized compliance with guidelines prohibiting open animal sacrifice and offering namaz on roads. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued statewide directions regarding Bakrid preparedness after a review meeting with senior officials.
