Director Ameen Barif’s fantasy comedy thriller series, ‘Khakee Circus’, starring Tamil actor Munishkanth, is set to premiere on April 10 on Zee5. The seven-episode series, previously known as ‘Once Upon a Time in Kayamkulam’, promises a blend of quirky humor and thrilling elements within a sub-jail setting. The show’s title change to ‘Khakee Circus’ aims to capture its irreverent humor and eccentric characters.

Written and directed by Ameen Barif and produced by Srinithi Sagar under Rise East Entertainment, ‘Khakee Circus’ boasts a talented ensemble cast including Munishkanth, Subash Selvam, Rajesh Madhavan, and others. The storyline unfolds in a coastal town where a peculiar crime transforms a sub-jail into chaos, leading to a wild chase filled with unexpected twists and turns. Director Ameen Barif expressed excitement about the series’ unique blend of comedy, thriller, and fantasy elements, set against the backdrop of a small-town world.

Munishkanth, the lead actor, described ‘Khakee Circus’ as a refreshing project that combines humor and tension in a fast-paced narrative. The series, characterized by its unpredictable nature and diverse characters, offers a fresh and entertaining viewing experience. With a mix of humor, mystery, and realism, ‘Khakee Circus’ promises to captivate audiences with its engaging storyline and quirky characters.
