The teaser for the film ‘Krishna’ was recently revealed at the NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas. Directed by Manu Anand, the movie breaks away from traditional VFX or animation-centered filmmaking. It introduces an AI-native production process where technology is seamlessly integrated into various filmmaking aspects, all under a director-led cinematic narrative.
‘Krishna’ is part of Historyverse, a collection of history and culture-based IPs by Collective Studios. Positioned as a significant mythology-driven project in India, it draws inspiration from iconic figures like Kali, Karna, and Durga, reflecting centuries-old stories that have influenced the subcontinent.
The collaboration between Collective Artists Network and Jio Studios is at the core of ‘Krishna.’ The film features a new cinematic pipeline developed by Galleri5, Collective Artists Network’s AI platform, leveraging Microsoft Azure’s advanced AI and cloud technologies. The film’s first look and the AI platform were showcased during Microsoft’s NAB keynote on ‘Powering Intelligent Media; From AI Experimentation to Real-World Impact.’
Jyoti Deshpande, President of Jio Studios, expressed the studio’s commitment to showcasing Indian narratives globally through ‘Krishna.’ The film not only embraces cutting-edge AI filmmaking but also aims to democratize such technologies for storytellers, enhancing accessibility and cost-effectiveness. The focus remains on empowering creators to bring their visions to life and connect emotionally with audiences through diverse storytelling.
While ‘Krishna’ explores grandeur and spectacle, it equally emphasizes emotional depth, stillness, music, and performances to ensure a profound audience connection beyond visual appeal. Vijay Subramaniam, Founder & Group CEO of Collective Artists Network, highlighted the film’s broader goal of using Indian-developed technology to share cultural narratives globally on an unprecedented scale. The focus remains on creating stories deeply rooted in Indian heritage but with universal appeal.
