The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is currently conducting the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE Prelims) nationwide. This year, a total of 8,19,372 candidates have registered for UPSC CSE 2026, competing for around 933 positions.
The examination is divided into two sessions using an offline OMR format. The General Studies Paper I began at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Paper II in the afternoon. Candidates must bring a current photo ID and a printed copy of their e-admit card to the assigned examination center.
Stringent security measures, including CCTV surveillance, jammers, and thorough checks, have been implemented to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of the examination. Aspirants are optimistic about their performance and hope for positive outcomes.
In various locations like New Delhi’s Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pushp Vihar, candidates have arrived for the examination with aspirations of success. Some expressed their nervousness but confidence in their preparation, while others emphasized the continuous nature of their efforts in preparing for the exam.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, candidates arrived early at examination centers where strict security protocols, including biometrics and retina scans, were in place. Similarly, in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, the examination is being held at 21 centers with 6,652 candidates participating. The UPSC Examination Centre’s SDM and In-charge, Vinod Singh, highlighted the arrangements made for the examination.
