The United States is working closely with allies in Europe and the Gulf to secure maritime routes and reopen key shipping lanes, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Leavitt emphasized that the US military maintains significant operational capability amid ongoing tensions and highlighted the collaborative efforts with partners in Europe and the Gulf region.
Recent US actions are part of a broader strategy to counter threats from Iran and prevent escalation, Leavitt stated. She mentioned that the US Armed Forces have taken measures to ensure Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon permanently, highlighting the importance of protecting US interests and forces in the current scenario.
Regarding diplomatic engagements, Leavitt confirmed the postponement of a planned presidential trip to China and assured that efforts were underway to reschedule the visit. She also addressed the resignation of Joe Kent, the top counterterrorism official, criticizing his resignation letter’s claims and defending the President’s decisions based on national interest.
