US forces, under the direction of the Commander in Chief, initiated fresh airstrikes on Iran, as stated by the US Central Command. The strikes aim to diminish Iran’s capacity to threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and retaliate against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for recent attacks on American personnel in Jordan.
Following an attack on a Jordanian base, two US service members lost their lives, with one still missing. This incident marks the 16th death of US military personnel since the US and Israel commenced attacks on Iran on February 28.
In a series of actions, US forces targeted Iran’s surveillance sites, military infrastructure, weapons storage, and maritime capabilities. These operations, conducted with fighter aircraft, drones, and warships, are part of the ongoing efforts to enforce a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
The United States has been conducting successive strikes on Iran’s southern regions to prevent threats to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM remains committed to holding Iran accountable under the Commander in Chief’s directives, with over 50,000 American service members actively engaged in the Middle East.
