The US military carried out strikes against Iran, focusing on Iranian military capabilities threatening vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes, conducted in waves, targeted coastal defense systems and missile storage sites on Greater Tunb Island. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps retaliated by attacking US military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan, destroying shelters housing fighter jets and strategic drones.
The IRGC urged Jordanians to remove US forces from their country, accusing American bases in Jordan of facilitating attacks against Islamic nations. Additionally, the IRGC navy targeted the US Fifth Fleet’s facilities in Bahrain in response to US naval deployments in the Indian Ocean. The US had previously conducted strikes against Iran, including missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, and coastal defense systems near the Strait of Hormuz.
