Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council, criticized the US military operation against Venezuela, stating that Venezuela poses no threat to the United States. He emphasized that the current military actions have no valid justification, as Venezuela has not posed any military, humanitarian, criminal, or drug-related threats.
Kosachev highlighted the importance of upholding international law rather than individual countries’ imposed rules. He condemned the violation of international law and emphasized that such actions should not be tolerated in the international order.
Expressing confidence that most nations would distance themselves from the attack on Venezuela, Kosachev called for condemnation of the military intervention. Russia also expressed deep concern over the US actions and emphasized the need for dialogue to resolve conflicts and prevent further escalation.
