US President Donald Trump is open to any country, including India, contributing to resolving the West Asia conflict, according to the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor. Gor mentioned that the US welcomes the involvement of various countries, emphasizing that India has the opportunity to decide its role in the peace process. He highlighted Trump’s inclusive approach, stating that anyone interested in peace efforts is welcomed.
Gor, who recently returned from Washington after discussions with Trump on enhancing the strategic partnership with India, hinted at upcoming significant developments in bilateral relations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also engaged in a conversation with Trump regarding the West Asia situation and strengthening the comprehensive partnership between the two nations.
India has been advocating for de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy to end the conflict in West Asia. The country has supported the ceasefire between the US and Iran, hoping for lasting peace in the region. India emphasizes the importance of maintaining open and secure passage through the Strait of Hormuz for global trade and energy supply.
Ambassador Gor highlighted the US’s efforts to deepen engagement with India, aiming to establish a defining strategic partnership for the 21st century. He emphasized the significance of defence cooperation, including the Major Defence Partnership and expanded collaboration in defence production, science, and technology.
