US Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted the deepening partnership between India and the United States, stating that the relationship with New Delhi is crucial to Washington’s Indo-Pacific strategy. Rubio mentioned upcoming “exciting and new announcements” regarding the development of this relationship. He emphasized India’s significant role in the US approach to the Indo-Pacific region.
Rubio underscored the importance of the India-US relationship during the inauguration of the US Embassy’s Support Annex building in New Delhi. He recalled his participation in the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which included discussions with India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Rubio emphasized the personal connection between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump in solidifying bilateral ties.
The US Secretary of State noted the deepening of commercial and security partnerships between the two countries. He highlighted the substantial investments by Indian companies in the US, military exercises in the Indo-Pacific, and the introduction of a new visa scheduling tool to enhance business ties. Rubio reaffirmed the significance of the partnership between the US and India, expressing optimism about further strengthening the relationship in the coming months.
