Daines also pushed for favorable trade terms for pulse crops between the two countries, highlighting Montana’s role as a major producer and India as a top consumer. The Senator’s discussions aimed at expediting fair trade negotiations for mutual benefit.
Additionally, Daines engaged with business representatives to explore opportunities for collaboration on advanced technologies and to boost trade and investment between the US and India. US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, praised Daines’ efforts in strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation between the two nations.
US Senator Daines met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi to discuss the strategic importance of their countries’ relationship. EAM Jaishankar expressed pleasure in their meeting, emphasizing the broad scope of their discussions on bilateral ties.
The visit follows a recent phone call between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and EAM Jaishankar, where they reviewed various areas of cooperation, including trade, civil nuclear energy, and regional security in the Indo-Pacific region. Both sides agreed to continue dialogue on these matters and potentially meet in the near future.
