US President Donald Trump has declared that the United States will oversee Venezuela temporarily following the arrest of Nicolas Maduro. Trump emphasized the need for a controlled transition to prevent chaos and revitalize the country’s oil infrastructure. He mentioned that designated US officials would manage the process.
Trump highlighted the importance of Venezuela’s oil sector in the nation’s recovery and stability. He stated that major US oil companies would invest significant amounts to restore the oil infrastructure. The President assured that the reconstruction costs would be covered directly by the oil companies.
Addressing concerns about US involvement, Trump confirmed a continued American presence in Venezuela related to energy operations. He mentioned that the generated wealth from these operations would benefit Venezuelans and reimburse the United States. Trump also mentioned that US troops were not ruled out, as they were already part of the ongoing operation.
Trump reiterated that individuals associated with the Maduro regime would not be allowed to retain power. He assured that the administration was closely monitoring such figures. Additionally, Trump mentioned discussions with Venezuela’s current vice president, indicating a willingness to cooperate with US directives.
Emphasizing his “America First” policy, Trump stressed the importance of securing good relationships with neighboring countries. He highlighted Venezuela’s energy resources as crucial for global stability. Trump also mentioned plans for the United States to sell oil internationally, emphasizing the country’s involvement in the oil business.
Regarding concerns about the financial burden on US taxpayers, Trump dismissed them, stating that the temporary governance in Venezuela would be self-sustaining through oil revenues. The United States has previously imposed sanctions on Venezuela’s oil sector due to alleged corruption and mismanagement, leading to economic turmoil and mass migration.
