USA cricketer Aaron Jones faces five charges under the anti-corruption codes of Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC). The charges stem from alleged incidents in Barbados’ Bim10 league in 2023/24 and international matches. Consequently, Jones has been provisionally suspended from all cricket activities and must respond to the charges within 14 days from January 28, 2026.
The charges against Jones include breaching Article 2.1.1 of the CWI Code related to fixing or influencing matches improperly. Additionally, he is accused of failing to disclose details of any approaches that could breach the CWI Code and refusing to cooperate with investigations. Jones, who has represented the USA in 52 ODIs and 48 T20Is, is currently part of the national team’s Men’s T20 World Cup preparatory camp in Sri Lanka.
Moreover, Jones is also charged with violating Article 2.4.4 of the ICC Code by not disclosing full details of corrupt conduct approaches. He is further accused of obstructing the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit’s investigation by concealing or tampering with relevant information. The ICC hinted at potential charges against others in the ongoing investigation, refraining from further comments until the disciplinary proceedings’ conclusion.
