Veteran singer Usha Mangeshkar expressed deep sorrow at the unexpected loss of her sister, Asha Bhosle. She remarked that the music industry would never see the likes of legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle again. Usha, the youngest among the Mangeshkar siblings, shared that Asha Bhosle always vowed to keep working tirelessly until the end.
In a heartfelt statement, Usha Mangeshkar mentioned, “Asha Tai is no more. We never imagined that she would leave us so suddenly. But the way she was, she would always say, ‘I will never sit down, I will stand and will keep working’, and that’s exactly how she left.” She added, “In a way, it feels good that her wish was fulfilled, but of course, it is a moment of grief for our family, and for India as well.”
As a tribute to her sister, Usha revealed her plan to dedicate a Marathi song in memory of Asha Bhosle. She emphasized the irreplaceable loss to the music world with the passing of Asha Bhosle, stating, “A great singer has passed away, and there will never be another like her… neither Lata Mangeshkar nor Asha Bhosle. I will dedicate a Marathi song to her Jivalaga rahile re.”
Asha Bhosle, a prominent figure in the music industry, breathed her last at the age of 92 in Mumbai. Known for her iconic songs like ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko’ and ‘Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani’, she made a significant impact with her melodious voice. Usha Mangeshkar, who has a diverse repertoire of songs across various languages, expressed her grief over the loss of a musical legend.
