Veteran singer Usha Uthup has teased a new rendition that combines the English classic ‘500 Miles’ with ‘Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye’ from the movie “Jurm.” This upcoming musical fusion aims to evoke emotions of distance, love, and reassurance for the audience. Uthup shared a preview on Instagram, hinting at a nostalgic experience set to be released on March 27, 2026.
“Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye,” originally sung by Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam, is a well-known track from the film “Jurm,” featuring Vinod Khanna and Meenakshi Sheshadri. Inspired by the English song “500 Miles” from the 1960s folk revival era, the track narrates a tale of a traveler far from home, facing financial struggles and reluctance to return.
Usha Uthup, renowned as the Queen of Indian Pop, is famous for her vibrant stage presence, distinctive red bindi, and Kanjivaram sarees. Emerging during Hindi cinema’s disco era, she gained popularity with hits like “Hari Om Hari” and “Aha Nache Nache.” Uthup’s musical journey began in a Madras nightclub before she made her mark in Kolkata’s club scene at Trincas, where she was noticed by Bollywood icons Dev Anand and Shashi Kapoor.
Known for her iconic song “Rambha Ho Ho Ho” from the 1981 movie “Armaan,” Uthup’s track was recently revived for the film “Dhurandhar” in 2025, creating a buzz on social media platforms.
