Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commended the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for successfully showcasing multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) and anti-ship missile capabilities. He emphasized that this achievement has bolstered India’s security and self-reliance. CM Yogi expressed pride in the scientific and strategic progress of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
The DRDO recently demonstrated advanced strategic capabilities, including a multi-layered BMD system and a new anti-ship missile. These tests marked a significant milestone in India’s indigenous defence program and strategic capabilities. The Ministry of Defence highlighted that these tests aimed to counter evolving security threats effectively.
During the tests conducted on June 10 and 11, the DRDO successfully displayed a “Multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) capability.” The interceptor missiles accurately engaged and neutralized their assigned targets, showcasing the effectiveness of the systems. These technologies have been developed using the latest advancements to address emerging missile threats.
This successful demonstration is a significant advancement for India’s strategic deterrence capabilities. The Ministry of Defence emphasized that these tests have positioned India among a select group of nations with sophisticated missile defence systems. India’s BMD capability now extends to engaging Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, further enhancing the country’s defensive capabilities.
