Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led a high-level meeting to assess the status of the ‘Mission Karmayogi’ initiative and its forthcoming rollout in the state. The focus was on the mission’s implementation, training infrastructure, digital platforms, and capacity-building efforts across various departments.
S. Radha Chauhan, Chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission, presented a comprehensive plan on the initiative’s progress in Uttar Pradesh during the meeting. CM Yogi highlighted that ‘Mission Karmayogi’ is a significant initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aiming to develop a skilled and efficient workforce blending modern perspectives with Indian values to enhance governance responsiveness and accountability.
Officials shared that the mission aims to train about 30 lakh central government officials, 2.2 crore state government employees, and 50 lakh personnel from urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions. Additionally, it targets the enhancement of 790 central government training institutions nationwide.
The Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) platform has been established to provide continuous online training. With over 1.45 crore registered users, iGOT is now the world’s largest government-driven capacity-building platform, offering a wide array of training courses in multiple languages. Uttar Pradesh has excelled in iGOT implementation, with significant numbers of employees participating and completing training programs, showcasing the state’s commitment to good governance and skill development.
CM Yogi stressed the importance of incorporating AI and cyber security modules into training programs and encouraged the sharing of successful case studies from various departments on the iGOT platform. He emphasized the need for a holistic approach encompassing knowledge, skills, and a positive attitude to enhance public service quality. The Chief Minister also directed the prioritization of practical and continuous training for frontline workers to improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
