Adityanath highlighted Singh’s leadership in India’s freedom movement and his pivotal contributions to agricultural and revenue reforms. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing farmers in government policies and development agendas, underscoring the need to uphold Singh’s legacy.
The Chief Minister announced the state government’s commitment to farmer welfare through various initiatives, including the establishment of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Seed Park in Lucknow. Adityanath lauded Singh’s enduring impact on society and the nation, recognizing his dedication to uplifting farmers’ lives and rural economies.
Chaudhary Charan Singh, born on December 23, 1902, in Uttar Pradesh, actively participated in the freedom movement after his education at Agra University. His advocacy for farmers’ rights and rural development continued post-independence, leading to his posthumous recognition with the ‘Bharat Ratna’ award in 1987.
