Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced plans to promote private investment in super speciality hospitals and private medical colleges in the state. He emphasized the importance of private sector participation in enhancing healthcare services alongside government initiatives. Adityanath highlighted the state’s progress in healthcare infrastructure development and the production of medical equipment and medicines locally.
The Chief Minister revealed upcoming projects, including pharma and medical device parks in Lalitpur and the Yamuna Expressway area. He also mentioned the establishment of centers of excellence for medical technology at IIT-Kanpur and Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences. Adityanath stressed the significance of quality healthcare services and the need for private involvement to ensure widespread access to such services.
Adityanath praised the success in eradicating encephalitis from East Uttar Pradesh and criticized the previous government for neglecting healthcare. He contrasted the current administration’s focus on health services improvement with the previous government’s alleged support for criminal elements. The Chief Minister highlighted the growth in medical colleges and healthcare facilities in Uttar Pradesh under the ‘One District, One Medical College’ policy.
The implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana was lauded by Adityanath, noting its significant impact in providing healthcare to millions across the nation. He mentioned the issuance of over 5.7 crore Golden Cards in Uttar Pradesh, enabling beneficiaries to access free medical treatment. Adityanath also emphasized the state government’s efforts in uplifting people from poverty through welfare schemes and developmental initiatives.
