The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh has detailed the process for verifying if a person’s name is listed in the draft voter list released on January 6. The Election Commission disclosed that Uttar Pradesh now has over 12.55 crore eligible voters, with approximately 2.89 crore names removed during the revision. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa explained that individuals can check their status by visiting the CEO UP web portal.
To check for their name, voters need to access the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) – 2026 window on the portal and click on ‘Search your name by EPIC number in draft electoral roll SIR 2026’. By entering their EPIC number and captcha, voters can view details like district, Assembly Constituency, and polling station if their name is listed. If not found, the result will show ‘No result found’.
Rinwa suggested an alternative method by visiting http://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in and entering the EPIC number to check voter list inclusion. He highlighted that during the revision, 2.17 crore voters were missing or had address changes, and 25.47 lakh electors were registered in multiple places. Voters missing from the list can submit Form 6 for claims and objections until February 6.
