Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Dharampal Singh conducted a review meeting regarding the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. He stated that shops selling non-vegetarian food will be closed throughout the Shrawan month. The practice of honoring Kanwar yatris by showering flower petals will continue this year, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participating.
The Kanwar Yatra, an annual pilgrimage in the month of Shrawan, will start on July 30 and end on August 28 in Uttar Pradesh. The state administration and police are ensuring safety and security for the yatris. Minister Singh issued directives to streamline the Yatra route and minimize obstacles.
Approximately 7,000 groups will embark on the Kanwar Yatra in Bareilly district. Each group has a designated nodal officer for coordination. Medical kits will be provided to pilgrims, and social media will be monitored to prevent misinformation. The administration is prepared to address any disruptions by individuals of different faiths along the pilgrimage route.
