As the holy month of Ramadan coincides with Holi this year, the Uttar Pradesh Police have detailed their security measures to maintain peace during the festivities. Additional Superintendent of Police, Gyanendra Kumar Singh, highlighted the comprehensive security arrangements in place, including peace meetings at police stations and coordination with religious leaders from all communities. Barricades are set to be installed at various locations to ensure a peaceful environment for both celebrations.
In Agra, DCP City Syed Ali Abbas mentioned the division of the city into six zones and 18 sectors for efficient monitoring during the festivities. Each zone will be supervised by an ACP, with inspectors managing each sector. Peace committee meetings with religious leaders have been conducted at all police stations, and preparations for Holika Dahan at 1,135 locations have been inspected to prevent any disputes.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, the chief of All India Muslim Jamaat, has urged members of all communities to respect each other’s religious sentiments for peace and harmony during the celebrations. With Holi falling on March 4 for the Hindu community and Ramadan ongoing for Muslims, authorities nationwide are implementing extensive security measures to uphold law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.
Maulana Rizvi emphasized the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation during the overlapping festivals. He highlighted the need for Hindu and Muslim communities to maintain peace, follow government guidelines, and ensure better coordination for a harmonious celebration of Holi and Ramadan this year.
