The Uttar Pradesh government is set to distribute appointment letters to 1,228 newly selected nursing officers on Sunday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will personally hand over letters to 492 candidates, with the remaining 736 receiving theirs from public representatives at various venues. These nursing officers will be stationed at government medical colleges and institutions across different cities in the state, including Agra, Kanpur, and Meerut.
Additional Chief Secretary Amit Kumar Ghosh highlighted the government’s focus on filling vacant healthcare positions to enhance services and create job opportunities for the youth. The recruitment process for these nursing officers was overseen by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in Prayagraj. The selected candidates, comprising 1,097 women and 131 men, will be deployed to specified medical facilities.
Dr. Sarika Mohan, Secretary and Director General of the Medical Education and Training Department, emphasized that the distribution of appointment letters will occur both at Lok Bhavan and through live programs at the respective medical colleges. This initiative is part of the state government’s goal to offer government jobs to 1.5 lakh youth this year, with ongoing recruitment activities in various departments. Earlier, on International Women’s Day, appointment letters were issued to 94 chief service supervisors, reflecting the government’s commitment to employment opportunities.
