Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep sorrow over a tragic bus accident in Almora district. The incident occurred when a bus carrying around 18 passengers veered off the road and fell into a ravine, resulting in six fatalities. CM Dhami conveyed prayers for the departed souls and strength for the affected families.
Rescue and relief operations are underway with injured passengers receiving medical attention at nearby hospitals. The bus was en route from Bhikiyasain to Ramnagar when the accident happened near Shilapani. Authorities have confirmed the deaths of six passengers at the scene, with several others injured and hospitalized for treatment.
Emergency response teams, including police and the State Disaster Relief Force, have mobilized to the accident site. Rescue efforts are ongoing amid concerns that some passengers might still be trapped inside the bus. Senior officials are supervising the operations, despite the location being 100 kilometers away from the district headquarters.
