Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, took a proactive step by personally investigating a complaint lodged on the CM Helpline in Dehradun. The complaint highlighted a damaged footpath in Jakhan due to underground cabling work by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). Dhami expressed disappointment over the lack of proper restoration of the footpath, rendering it unsafe for pedestrians.

In a departure from traditional file-based complaint handling, the Chief Minister visited the site in Jakhan on Rajpur Road to assess the situation firsthand. He walked through the affected area with the complainant, Vivek Madan, to understand the extent of the damage caused by the underground cabling work. Dhami used his mobile phone to video call officials, emphasizing the importance of better coordination among departments to prevent such oversights in the future.

Dhami highlighted the visibility of electric wires in various places despite the underground cabling work, raising concerns about public safety. He stressed the significance of proper planning to avoid inconvenience to citizens and prevent wastage of public funds on repeated repairs. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure prompt and coordinated completion of such projects, underscoring the need for effective resolution of public grievances.

During his visit, Dhami assured local shopkeepers and residents that their issues would be promptly addressed. He directed the Chief Secretary to launch a statewide campaign to address similar complaints and pledged to conduct regular on-ground inspections to ensure accountability and enhance service delivery.
