Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expanded the state cabinet by appointing five new ministers, bringing the total to 12. The new ministers are Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Khajan Dass, Mandan Kaushik, Pradeep Batra, and Ram Singh Kaira. Madan Kaushik, a member of the BJP National Executive Council, and former Uttarakhand BJP president, is among the appointees.
Khajan Dass, a former minister in the previous Uttarakhand government and state BJP vice-president, is also part of the new cabinet. The remaining three ministers, Ram Singh Kaira, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, and Pradeep Batra, are reportedly serving as ministers for the first time.
The oath-taking ceremony for the new ministers was conducted by Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh at Lok Bhavan at 10 a.m. With the addition of these five ministers, the Uttarakhand cabinet has reached its maximum capacity of 12 members.
Uttarakhand CM Dhami personally congratulated each minister through social media, expressing good wishes for their new roles. He highlighted the experience and capabilities of Madan Kaushik and praised Khajan Dass for his public relations skills and dedication to public welfare.
CM Dhami commended Bharat Singh Chaudhary for his understanding of hilly region needs, Pradeep Batra for his dedication to public service, and welcomed Ram Singh Kaira, expressing confidence in his contributions to state development initiatives. The cabinet expansion, aimed at gearing up for the 2027 Assembly elections, signifies the party’s preparation for a third consecutive term.
