Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that any irregularities in donations at Shri Badrinath Temple would be considered as grave as cow slaughter. He assured that strict measures would be taken against those responsible. A committee has been established, and the police have initiated a preliminary investigation.
Dhami emphasized the seriousness of the issue, comparing it to heinous crimes like murdering one’s parents. He stressed that those found guilty would face severe consequences as per the law. The Chief Minister highlighted that the committee would provide recommendations for the proper management of temple donations.
Following a complaint by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) regarding alleged embezzlement of donations, a case has been registered at the Badrinath Police Station. Sections 306 and 316(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, have been invoked. Pramod Nautiyal, the Personal Assistant at BKTC, is facing escalating troubles, including suspension and an FIR against him.
An FIR was lodged based on a complaint by BKTC Temple Officer Yudhveer Pushpwan, citing Sections 306 and 316(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Allegations of financial irregularities led to a three-member inquiry committee being formed by the temple committee. The inquiry revealed potential unauthorized withdrawals of temple funds by Pramod Nautiyal, resulting in his immediate suspension by BKTC.
