Following the recent cabinet expansion, the Uttarakhand government has assigned portfolios to its ministers. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will retain oversight of key departments such as Personnel, Vigilance, Home, Revenue, and Finance, among others. The allocation of responsibilities was approved by the Governor based on the Chief Minister’s advice and in line with constitutional provisions.
The state Secretariat Administration Department issued an order detailing the distribution of portfolios among the Council of Ministers. Senior Cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj will handle Public Works, Tourism, Irrigation, and Culture. Subodh Uniyal has been entrusted with Forests, Technical Education, and Election matters. Dhan Singh Rawat will oversee School and Higher Education, Health, and Medical Education.
Ganesh Joshi has been allocated Agriculture, Horticulture, and Farmers’ Welfare, while Premchand Aggarwal will manage Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs. Rekha Arya will be responsible for Women’s Empowerment and Social Welfare programs. Chandan Ram Dass will look after Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, and Saurabh Bahuguna has been assigned Animal Husbandry and Fisheries.
The portfolio allocation aims to enhance administrative coordination and governance efficiency. It is expected to expedite the implementation of development programs in sectors like infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, and urban development in Uttarakhand.
