The ‘Uttarakhand Minority Education Act’ has been put into action in Uttarakhand starting July 1, as announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This move marks the complete dissolution of the Madrasa Education Board in the state. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Dhami emphasized the government’s commitment to establishing a modern, transparent, and high-quality education system rooted in national values.

Students in these institutions will now be provided textbooks based on the NCERT curriculum. The Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority, chaired by Professor Surjeet Singh Gandhi, comprises distinguished scholars and professors from various minority communities as members.
The Authority’s members include Professor Rakesh Kumar Jain, Dr Syed Ali Hamid, Professor Pema Tenzing, Professor Gurmeet Singh, Dr Elba Mandrele, Professor Robin Aman, Chandrashekhar Bhatt, and Rajendra Singh Bisht.
