The Vaishali Police in Bihar have made significant progress in the robbery case at a gold trader’s residence in Mahnar on April 21. Three suspects, including two Nepali nationals associated with a criminal network, have been apprehended. Among them is Jayaram Paswan, a notorious dacoit from Nepal with a long history of criminal activities dating back to 1998.
Jayaram Paswan, who has evaded arrest for nearly three decades by fleeing to Malaysia intermittently, was finally captured. He is linked to 24 criminal cases in Nepal and various districts in Bihar. The other arrested individuals are Bhola Sah, with 11 dacoity cases against him, and Rajiv Singh, accused in two dacoity cases.
The robbery was a joint operation involving criminals from Bihar and Nepal. It was orchestrated after a conspiracy was allegedly hatched in Bettiah during a wedding ceremony. The gang targeted the gold trader’s residence in Mahnar, executed the robbery, and escaped. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) apprehended the suspects based on information obtained from Rajiv Singh.
Police have recovered two stolen motorcycles from Jayaram Paswan but are yet to retrieve the looted valuables. The alleged mastermind, Idris Nat, and other accomplices are currently on the run. Raids are ongoing to capture them. In recognition of cracking the case, police personnel involved will be honored.
