VCK President Thol Thirumavalavan expressed strong confidence in the success of the DMK-led alliance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He emphasized the alliance’s strong position for a significant victory, dismissing any doubts about a fractured mandate or a hung Assembly. Thirumavalavan’s optimism is based on extensive on-ground feedback collected during the campaign, where he engaged directly with voters across more than 40 constituencies.
Thirumavalavan highlighted that various post-poll surveys have indicated a clear path to victory for the DMK-led alliance. While some projections differ, the overall trend suggests a favorable outcome for the alliance, with expectations of the DMK forming the government independently. Addressing reports of criticism towards VCK cadre for insufficiently supporting alliance partners in certain areas, Thirumavalavan clarified that his remarks were aimed at internal improvement and not as widespread criticism.
The VCK leader refuted suggestions of a potential hung Assembly in Tamil Nadu or the emergence of actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay as a significant political force. He attributed such narratives to “right-wing groups” and betting syndicates attempting to sway public opinion. Thirumavalavan also raised concerns about the influence of betting networks in circulating speculations around Vijay’s electoral prospects, emphasizing that the truth will be revealed only after the election results are announced.
