Veer Ahlawat emerged as the top Indian golfer after the first round of the Swiss Challenge at Golf Sempach in Lucerne, Switzerland, finishing at T-28 with a score of 2-under 69. Following closely was Arjun Prasad at T-41 with a score of 1-under 71. Saptak Talwar, on the other hand, faced challenges, ending the day at T-110 after carding 3-over 74.
Denmark’s Christoffer Bring took the lead in the tournament with a flawless round of 7-under 64, holding a one-shot advantage over Haydn Barron, George Bloor, Tadeas Tetak, and Tobias Eden. Veer Ahlawat, who split his time between the Hotel Planner Tour and the DP World Tour, showcased a mixed performance, starting with a 1-over par at the turn but rallying with four birdies in six holes on the front nine.
Arjun Prasad, beginning on the back nine, showed promise with early birdies but faced setbacks with dropped shots, finishing the round at 1-under 70. Saptak Talwar struggled throughout the day, marked by a 3-over 74 score, placing him at T-110 on the leaderboard. Christoffer Bring’s impressive display included a series of birdies, securing him the top spot after the first round.
