Veteran actress Himani Shivpuri recently shared that revisiting scenes from her iconic movie “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” brought a smile to her face. She expressed nostalgia as she received a clip of one of her memorable scenes with Anupam Kher from the film.
In the clip shared on her social media, Himani featured a scene with Anupam Kher, who portrayed Shah Rukh Khan’s father in the movie, engaging in a light-hearted moment with Kajol’s paternal aunt. Last year marked the 30th anniversary of “DDLJ,” and to celebrate this milestone, the lead actors, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, unveiled a bronze statue of their characters in London’s Leicester Square.
Reflecting on the enduring popularity of “DDLJ,” Kajol mentioned that during the filming, they never anticipated the film’s immense success among Indians and South Asians worldwide. She described the movie as a significant touchstone for the Indian diaspora, highlighting its record-breaking run and its recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records.
